TV Show

sds“Chris Cox Horsemanship” airs twice a week on RFD-TV, the popular rural-theme television network available as a basic channel to 40 million homes. (DirectTV channel 345 and Dish Network channel 231.)

Taped at his Diamond Double C Ranch in Mineral Wells, TX, Chris’ half hour show features new and exciting topics as well as previous episodes that were the most requested from our viewers. Special episodes also feature Chris visiting ranches across the country to work with horses and their owners as part of our “Problem Horse Series”.

Chris’ motto of “Building Confidence Through KnowledgeSM” gives viewers an idea of what they can expect to learn. Raised on a cattle ranch in the wilds of Australia, Chris has a strong background in both Western and English disciplines. He has implemented a style and technique that has universal effectiveness, whatever the riding style. His common sense, straight forward approach enables horsemen and women at all levels to gain insight into horse behavior and leads them into a safe, versatile partnership…on the ground and in the saddle. Chris travels regularly to expos and horse events across the country, and holds numerous clinics at his 175-acre training facility near Mineral Wells, Texas, throughout the year.

Back episodes are available for just $19.99 per show, click here to browse selection.

Prepare Your Horse: I never ask a horse to do something I haven't prepared it to do. By the time I'm asking a horse to step on to a trailer, that horse has all the preparation it needs to do it. By prepare I don't mean desensitize. I don't desensitize my horses as much as a lot of people do. It's easy to overdo it and end up dulling your horse. It's okay for your horse to react to something, but if he's properly prepared he won't overreact.

The Leading Edge in Ground Control
$39.99

<!--a-->The Leading Edge in Ground Control In this series, clinician and educator Chris Cox teaches you how to gain control of your horse on the ground and establish a foundation of communication that will translate into the saddle. With effective, step-by-step methods you will learn how to teach your horse to respect your space and move as directed. Without a roundpen or stick, Chris will show you how to master your communication with halter and lead rope alone. By relying on simple tools and authentic horsemanship, you will always be prepared to communicate effectively with your horse, anytime or anyplace. As Chris works with an untrained young horse, you will see first-hand what it takes to establish a solid foundation on the ground. Once you've mastered your groundwork in the arena or paddock, Chris will show you how to add some spice to your learning and use your newfound skills to traverse obstacles such as gullies, logs and trees. Runtime: 1 hour 3 minutes

My husband, Jason and I recently attended the "Ride the JourneySM Tour", at Tunica, MS. And I must say, it was an awesome experience!!!! We really enjoyed it a great deal!! All the information that was given to us in such a short time really made alot of sense and made us as individuals realize some bad habits that we have with our horses!! But what probably impressed me the most is, that you seem to be very genuine and sincere about helping others rather than just trying to sell yourself!!!

Not only do I feel like my husband Jason will definetly learn alot from you to make him a better horseman but as well as a better person, by learning to take the time to be patient and have better comunication skills in all aspects. I am very grateful to have had the chance to attend your Tour!
