Demo Horses for the
Come Ride the Journey ~ Chris Cox 2008 Horsemanship Tour

Chris will be using horses during his demonstrations on each of his tour stops. If you would like to submit your horse for one of the categories listed below, please fill out the online form listed at the bottom of the page. We require a DVD, VHS, 8mm, or video clip of your horse and its problem. If your horse is chosen, one of the CCHC staff will contact you at the phone numbers that you have provided.

Chris is looking for horses in the following categories:

• Problem Horse - Bucking Problem demo - We are looking for a broke horse that has developed an extreme bucking problem. All horses must be broke, please no green broke horses. We do ask for you to submit a video of your horse, we understand due to safety reasons for not riding the horse in the video. If you would just show the horse saddled being worked in a round pen or lunged and as much information you can provide about past bucking history.
• Problem Horse - Trailer Loading demo - The trailer loading demo deals with a horse that will not load or is rarely able to load. We would like a horse that requires a lot of work loading into the trailer or rarely does load. A horse that will load partly or runs backwards out of a trailer will not be considered. Please submit a video showing the horse and the owner trying to load the horse into the trailer and the horse refusing to load.
• Problem Horse – Headset demo - The perfect headset horse is one that usually is ridden with a tie down or just has natural high headset and wants to pull on the bit or carry its nose in the air when you are riding or pulling on the bit. Please no green broke horses. In the video, please show the owner riding the horse without a tie down or any other headset restraint.
• Colt Starting demo - We ask for a halter broke 2 or 3 year old colt or filly. The horse must not have been saddled or bridled or any riding. Please show in the video the colt/filly being led around or moved around in a round pen or turnout.
• Building the Rider’s Confidence demo – This demo is perfect for a rider that has had a traumatic or terrifying experience with a horse and is trying to build their confidence in riding, again. Chris works with each rider in the demo on discovering their inner confidence in their horsemanship through the correct seat position. We ask for all riders to be able to walk, trot, and/or willing to lope. In the video, please show the rider on their horse and where they are lacking confidence.

Please Note: All Horses must be under 14 years old. For all Tour Stops, horses must arrive at the facility by 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before the tour date. For Expo arrival time call the office at 940-327-8113.

There is a $150 one time fee for Chris to use your horse in his colt starting and bucking horse demonstration. There is a $100 one time fee for the Headset and Trailer loading demo horses. The Building Rider’s Confidence demo is free. The fee is payable upon selection of your horse by the CCHC staff. This fee will be refunded if we do not use your horse in a demonstration.
